Political tension has long been part of Bolivia’s story. So has resilience. This year, that resilience has been tested again. Economic pressure, social uncertainty, and an inflation rate climbing to nearly 18 percent have rippled through daily life. For families, it has meant hard choices. For schools, it has meant stretched budgets, delayed repairs, and a tireless effort to keep the school doors open. And yet, for children in schools that partner with Edify, sitting at wooden desks, pencils in hand, something steady remains: faith.
Something to Last
Across Bolivia, more than 600 schools have been positively impacted through Edify trainings, with 178 training sessions held in the past year alone. These trainings are not isolated workshops. They are practical, skill-building sessions designed to equip teachers with tools they can adopt immediately and consistently integrate, from strengthening early literacy to integrating technology and biblical worldview into daily lessons. Teachers learn how children develop, how to engage different learning styles, and how to create classrooms that invite curiosity, participation, and hope – even when resources are scarce. In the middle of instability, teachers are showing up, learning, adapting, and choosing to plant something lasting in their classrooms.
In 2026, Edify’s work expanded into Bolivia’s eastern lowlands, a region that makes up nearly one-third of the country and is home to more than three million people. It is a cultural crossroads; diverse, vibrant, yet marked by deep economic struggle. For many schools, resources are limited, and support is rare. That is where partnership with Edify sparks transformation. For Carla Loayza, a preschool teacher of five years, these trainings from Edify reshaped her days with her students. She completed several trainings, including Reading Foundations, Reading Comprehension, and Story Labs with AI. These trainings aimed to improve literacy, and Carla quickly saw something shift. “We are applying and innovating our class,” she explains. “The children have felt motivated by the stories. We see their needs, we implement their interests, and it has helped them expand their language and vocabulary.” Her students didn’t just listen to stories. They created them. “They have now made two stories,” Carla proudly shared.
Planted Places
In a season of uncertainty, these classrooms are becoming planted places. Through Edify’s training, teachers gain confidence and resilience, empowered to face difficult times with courage. This is still the beginning in Bolivia, but the roots are taking hold. What is being formed now will shape classrooms, communities, and students’ lives for years to come. And sometimes, that is how enduring transformation begins. Roots growing quietly beneath the surface. Teachers learning. Students imagining. Stories forming, word by word. What grows here is steady, hopeful, and sustainable.
