“If we do this for the next 20 years, we’ll have a different kind of generation.”

The Need

One in Four Children Make It to Secondary School

Uganda is a landlocked nation in East Africa, home to 44 million people.

Primary education completion hovers around 50% for both boys and girls, meaning half of Uganda children stop learning before the age of 10 years old.

In Uganda, 14% of children ages 6-12 are out of school, that number rises to 25% for ages 13-18.

Teacher absenteeism plays a large role in low learning levels. In public schools, 60% of teachers are absent from the classroom on any given day.
