48% of Youth Haven’t Completed Primary School
Situated in West Africa, Liberia is home to 4.9 million Liberians and is considered one of the poorest nations in the world.
Liberia has one of the highest percentages of out-of-school children in the world, while 11% of youth have no education at all.
When compared to other low-income countries, Liberia ranks in the 0 percentile in access to education and the 3rd percentile for learning.
Armed conflict and civil war left 60% of school buildings destroyed, and closures from the Ebola outbreak in 2014, Liberia is still rebuilding their fragile education sector.
