The Need
70% of Children Aren’t Meeting Basic Literacy Proficiencies
Guatemala is located in Central America, sitting below Mexico.
The number of out-of-school children has more than doubled in the past decade, with over 40% of all teenagers missing from the classroom.
Less than 75% of the population above 15 years old is literate, the lowest literacy rate in Central America.
Guatemala is plagued by fragile security and government corruption, which exhausts every sector including education, business, and healthcare.
