Why We Invest in Education Entrepreneurs

by Feb 19, 2025

“So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.” — Matthew 25:28, ESV

One of Edify’s Core Values, based on Matthew 25:28, is “Applaud the Entrepreneurial Spirit.” The Bible showcases this spirit from Genesis to Revelation, and Jesus Himself modeled creativity, vision, and bold action. In the same way, the education entrepreneurs we partner with across 15 countries embody this spirit daily, creating a ripple effect of students impacted, advancing the next generation, and ultimately Christian transformation.

Students Impacted
At Edify, we believe every child deserves a quality education. By equipping these education entrepreneurs, or school owners, with training, loan capital, and education technology, schools become more sustainable, and students thrive. In fiscal year 2024, Edify partnered with over 34,000 schools, impacting 8.4 million students in low-fee independent schools.

Advancing the Next Generation
Education changes lives. UNESCO reports that one extra year of schooling can increase an individual’s earnings by 10 percent, and secondary education could lift 420 million people out of poverty. These schools that Edify partners with help students succeed by providing intentional, high-quality education, opening doors for a better future.

Christian Transformation
Beyond academics, Christ-centered schools shape students spiritually. Edify supports school leaders and teachers as they share Jesus through their work, strengthening the body of Christ. “We need to share what God has done in our lives… education is the best way for transformation,” says Karla de Pineda, LATAM Regional Lead, Christ-Centered Education.

As we continue working toward Flourishing Godly Nations, education entrepreneurs remain at the heart of ensuring every child receives the education they deserve.
