Flourishing Education in Rwanda
Education flourishes in Rwanda thanks to commitment, support, and sustainable networks.
Although nearly every child in Rwanda enrolls into primary school, only 71 percent of children complete their primary education (UNICEF). So it’s crucial for students in Rwanda to not just receive a quality education, but to continue in their schooling. However, shutdowns affected all schools across the country. Worldwide, all our partner schools were closed to in-person instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet Rwanda offers a glimpse of hope. In the past year, Edify in Rwanda has been able to partner with 400 new schools.
As tuition fees increased at government schools, many students enrolled at low-fee schools. These schools sought training and loan assistance from Edify to help with the increase in numbers. Partnering with these schools will help provide the resources needed to help students continue to thrive. As continuing education statistics are low in Rwanda, Edify’s work brings hope to help students to thrive in education. Through education technology, business and teacher training, and loan capital, Edify comes alongside local school proprietors to improve Christ-centered education. Here at Edify, we believe that children with a quality education and relationship with Christ can change the world!
