Flourishing

student in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso

Since 2009, Edify has carried an audacious hope: that Christ-centered education could transform not just students, but entire nations. What began with a single partnership has grown across continents, reaching Burkina Faso in 2013, where that same vision continues to flourish today. Rehoboth Christian School, founded and led by Pastor Joseph Ouedraogo, stands as living proof of what can happen when faith, perseverance, and partnership meet.

Established in 2003, Rehoboth evolved from a prayer to a reality. For years, its walls echoed with children’s laughter and the blessings of a hopeful community, even as space grew tight and resources were stretched thin. In 2025, a door opened. Through Edify’s partnership with a local microfinance institution, Rehoboth gained access to a much-needed loan — a lifeline made possible by the support, training, and encouragement of the Edify team.

New Heights

Pastor Joseph Ouedraogo, the school’s founder, watched transformation unfold before his eyes. The loan enabled the school “to build classrooms, a computer room, a staff office, and a store, as well as plant five mango trees.” Without this support, he reflected, “it would have been impossible for us to achieve what we have achieved.” He gives glory to God and expresses deep gratitude to Edify, praying, “May this open door continue to shine for the benefit of Christ-centered schools in Burkina Faso and other countries around the world.”

The new classrooms are more than bricks and mortar. They are spaces where children discover their worth, teachers are equipped to nurture both mind and spirit, and a community finds new reasons to rejoice. The computer room and school store are testaments to what partnership, prayer, and perseverance can build over time.

Alongside financial growth, Rehoboth has also benefited from Edify’s training programs for teachers and school leaders, which equip the school to integrate faith, leadership, and effective classroom practice.

Today, Edify’s vision of Flourishing Godly Nations is bearing fruit in places like Rehoboth, where five young mango trees stretch toward the sky, their growth mirroring the school’s fruitfulness.
