One of our greatest strengths as a development organization is the network of partnerships we’ve built over the last 10 years. Across the world, our partners help us train, lend, and implement. We use local, in-country organizations who train our school proprietors and teachers in best business practices, teaching pedagogy and methodology, conditions for learning, and Christian transformation. They equip and increase the skill-set of our school proprietors and teachers to deliver high-quality education to their students. We rely on our lending partners to help our partner schools gain access to the loan capital they need at below market rates so they can improve and expand their facilities. We are thankful for education technology partners who bring 21st century technology to improve reading and vocabulary and let students devour books they would never have access to otherwise.

Take a look at a few of our incredible partners that we’re honored to work with.

Esperanza: Lending and Finance Partner

https://esperanza.org/

In the Dominican Republic, Esperanza is a unique Christian lending organization specializing in microfinance and small-medium enterprise loans. Not only do they believe in access to loan capital for the underserved, they use a holistic approach to finance. We love partnering with Esperanza because they’re committed to seeing long-lasting, Kingdom-like change through the loans they give that restore hope and dignity in the Dominican people.

Esperanza serves entrepreneurs, women, families, and children. Our commitment is to the poorest of the poor, providing access to capital for those outside of the formal financial sector. Our borrowers typically earn a living wage of $2-4 a day and are vulnerable in their states of poverty. We see potential in our borrowers, and work with those who are under-served, capable, and ready to be equipped with tools that move them toward hope-filled futures.
Guided by our faith in Jesus Christ, Esperanza’s collective heart is to serve the poorest of the poor and love our neighbor as our self. We commit to seeing an end to poverty and attending to the physical, personal, and spiritual transformation of the Associates we serve.” — Esperanza

University of San Diego, School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES): Education Training Partner

www.sandiego.edu/soles

Trained educators are vital for schools to deliver a quality education to their students. Yet many teachers in the developing world are severely undertrained. Spearheaded by our Vice President of Education Paula Cordiero, the University of San Diego is our Education Training partner in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, and Rwanda. The University of San Diego developed module-style trainings in school leadership, early childhood education (ECE), and early grade literacy contextualized for each culture.

Leadership modules help proprietors improve conditions for learning and help proprietors learn how to hire and support and evaluate teachers. While ECE and literacy modules increase teachers’ pedagogy and explore new teaching methods. All education training done by the University of San Diego meets country and/or international standards so we know our partner schools are delivering the best education they can.

Worldreader: Education Technology Partner

www.worldreader.org

In developing countries, printed books are a rare sight and a school library is even rarer. That’s why we love partnering with Worldreader and using eReaders loaded with books provided to classrooms for a fraction of the cost and space printed books would require. Worldreader makes sure the eReaders have books written by local and national authors with culturally relevant and context-specific literature. Not only does Worldreader deliver digital books, they can help improve students’ vocabulary, build technology skills, and improve reading comprehension and literacy. We utilize Worldreader through our education technology program in Ghana and other projects in Burkina Faso and Liberia.

Worldreader is helping readers build a better world. Fifty-three percent of children in low -and middle- income countries cannot read and understand a simple story by the end of primary school. As the leading digital reading specialist, Worldreader works with partners to address this crisis by bringing digital books to millions of children and youth. Our readers are drawn to books that reflect the world they live in. We source books from local publishers in local languages that depict the lives, challenges, and triumphs of our readers, so they can relate to the stories.” — Worldreader

Our work in building sustainable education in some of the most underserved places in the world is made possible by our incredible local networks and partners. Through thoughtful and intentional partnerships, we envision flourishing godly nations together. All so we can see schools, proprietors, teachers, and students learn and thrive.
