Loan capital in the developing world is hard. Loans are challenging to apply for and receive while most banks can be predatory and charge high interest rates. Capital can help a school improve and expand their physical facility. Windows for ventilation, classroom additions or desks, and proper hand washing stations are made possible through loans.
So that’s why we work with local, mission-aligned microfinance lenders who lend and manage small-to-medium enterprise loans to our partner schools. Our lenders charge below-market rates and we use the recycled principal repayments to build self-sustaining loan programs.
